Whimsy in the Woods

Skypark set the stage for Chelsea & Rory’s enchanting forest wedding. If you have been dreaming of a woodland wedding then let this be your inspiration. Whether you fall in love with their love story, wedding details, color palette, stunning florals or scenery there are so many swoon worthy images for you to drool over.

Chelsea & Rory’s story begins in the summer of 2010 when they met through mutual friends. there was an instant spark they just hadn’t quite figured out that’s what it was. it wasn’t until the following summer that they officially started dating the following summer and the more time they spent together and the more time they talked about their future, hopes and dreams it became very evident that they wanted to pursue their future goals together.

Oooh the proposal.

“Rory proposed in the most perfect way. Every summer we take a big trip and our trip for the summer of 2017 took us to Dublin, Southern Portugal and Prague. We had been to Prague before and Rory studied abroad there. There is this spot on a little island on the river that over looks the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. The first time he took me there in 2015, I bawled my eyes out because it was the most beautiful place I'd ever seen. So he knew that was the spot he wanted to propose. After nearly 3 weeks of traveling and 3 countries, he carried around the ring without my knowledge. We had a day of exploring the city and going to a museum, we found ourselves back on the island in our special spot. We sat and drank Pilsners and people watched for hours, and after the sun went down and the golden lights of the bridge and castle started to come up, Rory got down on one knee and proposed. I started sobbing tears of joy, and of course said yes! It was pretty much the most romantic thing that I could have ever dreamed of. That was 7/28/17 and we were married 51 weeks later!”

Choosing the venue.

Chelsea & Rory knew they wanted a summer wedding and definitely wanted a reprieve from the orange county heat so it was obvious from the beginning that they wanted a mountain wedding. After searching online they came across multiple venues and Skypark stood up as soon as they saw it. and after they toured it they fell in love with everything it had to offer.

‘We toured it and everyone was so sweet from the moment we met them. The venue was so gorgeous with all the natural elements and nestled in the woods. The deciding element for us ultimately was that since SkyPark is also an adventure park and not just a wedding venue, we could come back for years to come and bring our family someday. That was something another venue wouldn't be able to offer and we thought that was so special.”

Style elements

The scenery, natural beauty and majestic trees made the perfect backdrop and they wanted to make sure nothing distracted from that. They wanted to a color palette that complimented their surroundings. They found the perfect palette in Silver Sage, Eucalyptus, hints of peach and blush tones . Oak & Ivy designs did an unbelievable job bringing their design dreams into reality including their unique hoop flower bouquets and elegant altar.

This lovely wedding was shot both in digital and film (we, in the biz call this a hybrid) I love the color tones, skin tones and authentic feeling it gives. So scroll down, leave them some love and enjoy.
